A 23 YR OLD MAN PRESENTS WITH BIZARRE DELUSIONS,a blunted affect,and abnorml thought process.which one of the following characteristics indicate his prognosis?
1)an extensive premorbid history of social withdrawl
2) a family history of schezophrenia
3) a sudden onset of symptomatology
4) ( MRI) that shows no significant changes in brain morphology
5) catatonic symptomatology

Well, the question is not phrased properly. What do you want to know - good or bad prognosis?
Because:
4 and 5 give good
1 gives worse

With option 1. are we thinking about Schizoaffective disorder? Since schizoaffective disorder has a better prognosis than Schizophrenia.........
