sprint123,
you raise a very important question.
I think you have to do what is specific to the complains the Pt has. If there is a right upper quadrant pain, I think I would listen to bruits of common iliac arteries ONLY if I have time or I am uncertain about the tentative diagnosis. So, if you are specific, you'll get your points. Contrary, being broad and testing what wasn't necessary will not be of additional benefit. But this is only my idea, and I may be wrong.
GL on your exam.

Although the abdominal exam from UW is 8 minutes, it won't take you eight minutes to do a complete abdominal exam... the video is instructional so the doctor is much slower than you will be on the exam, and he is chatting to the camera most of the time... remember there are only four things you will do to complete your abd exam - inspection, auscultation, palpation, and percussion - these maneuvers would take at most two minutes...
also justice is right - the instructions for most of your encounters is take a FOCUSED physical... meaning they are looking for you to assess the organs relevant to your SP's symptoms... extras will not help your scoring...
