1. What are the minimum score requirements for USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK?

2. During the review process, do you consider "year of graduation" for
applying in this program?

3. Do you accept International Medical Graduates?

4. Do you sponsor H1 or J1 visa?

• If you offer H1 visa, do you need step 3 results at the time of filing
application or interview?

• Does the H1B cap apply to your program?

5. Do you need US clinical experience (USCE)?

• Do you consider observership as USCE?
• Do you offer observership or externship?
• Do you require any non-US clinical experience?

6. Does your program participate through ERAS?

7. When is the deadline to accept application?

8. What is the last day for providing ECFMG Certificate and Step3 Result?

9. Do you require any specific arrangement in "Letter of Recommendation" or want me to address specific questions in my "Personal Statement"?

You should provide your name, AAMC number (if you have) and your email address.

These questions are not the best form of questions, I made a letter enclosing all these and send to the programs which I was interested in. Every individual has different conditions, you should write your letter by yourself and not copy and paste them from the others.

Good Luck with Match,

H1 CAP is usually ful within a few months of start then programs under cap have to wait for next yr to sponsor H1. thats what i understand about this cap non cap issue.

amir does a cap H1 differ from non cap H1 in anyway.

so cap is good!! ¿?sticking out tongue

H1B cap (ie a limit) is bad for Drs - this year (classified as 2008, for visas which are valid as of 1 Oct 2007), applications for H1B visas were accepted from a specific day this month - think is was April 1? Anyway, the cut-off was reached within two working days.
Cap applies to private companies: industry, commerce etc, but not usually to non-profit/charity or academic organisations.

thanks amir for the info.

amir

where r u??

i sent u a pm plz reply

  #14

hey guys,

If you'd wanna send a letter like this it would've been better to do it a couple of months back. Just imagine right bout now 500-800 other guys like you are sending the same question to PC's so u kinda get the hint. I dont think they r gonna spend so much time replying to all this and well the not so fed up of it one's might just send u a link besides all this information is always avilable on their program website so you should look around. And in the case it's not there just send them a short and sweet message saying u r name is this and what are your requirements for FMG's

Questions like this either do not get a reply, or they reply back with a link to their residency programs. However, there are some internet sites that you pay, become a member, and receive answers to above questions. Is it worthed? Depending on how awful you need some answers.

The information on these websites are not updated and not trustworthy.

The most important question you can ask a program

"I applied to your program through eras on _______ date, and am really interested in interviewing with you. I am an IMG and my (insert best CV point here). I am in the area so please let me know."

"So you don't have any openings now, that's fine (insert coordinators first name here)"

"If there are are any cancellations, please let me know, as I would be willing to interview on short notice. It was nice talking to you (coordinators name)"

Repeat weekly until they say no.

too bad it only works in Late December or January, but that will get you more calls than you think.

This is a very rude questions, programs don't owe you to give position. you have to get it. With this email, there is not a chance of getting IV.

As far as I know, the h1 caps are not applicable on clinical h1 visas. It only limits visas for professionals other than docs. Pls correct me if i am wrong
