A CLUE; ADIPOSE TISSUE HAS GLYCEROL KINASE?

  #4

DHAP

  #5

please explain whatever the right answer is :?

  #6

adipose tissue lacks glycerol kinase enzyme( which liver can produce). It strictly depends on glucose uptake to produce DHAP for TG synthesis.

The GLUT 4 transporter is stimulated by insulin, thus ensuring good supply of DHAP for TG synthesis.
Basically for TG synthsis there r two sources:

1. DHAP(produced from glycolysis) reduction by glycerol3P dehdrogenase ,an enzyme present in both liver and adipose tissue.

2. phosphorylation of free glycerol by glycerol kinase, an enzyme found in liver but not in adipose tisssue.

Hope this helps
