Q bank from high 80s in PATHO and BIOCHEM to mid 70s of Pharma and behav
Q BOOK most of the blocks were in 80s
UW 78%
NBME did only downloaded forms
USMLE CD 45,46,46

HELLO
hey every body in the forum thank u all for ur prayers
and i started my studies 9 months back
we are three frends who quitted housejob(internship in our country) and started
preparation for step 1-the journey was long tiresome mentally traumatic but interesting-but by GRACE OF ALLAH we are all 99ers now-
i had quite a few breaks-took october off coz of illness and fatigue-
was too depressed in jan (thought i cudnt do it)
and finally after all the delays i gave the exam on 29th march 2007
i was originally schedulded to appear on 29th dec but delayed it for three months-but i regret delaying it beyond jan coz my depression incresed-BUT ALL IS WELL THAT ENDS WELL-
AS far as study materials is concernd for patho i(we) used GOLJAN RAPID REVIEW-an excellent book-i got star in patho-i dnt thnk u can perform anythng less than best after reading that book-
FOR Anatomy I(WE) used HIGH YIELD FOR gross,kaplan for neuronatomy kaplan for histo and old high yield 45 pages for embryo( a senior advised us abt that) and every single q frm exam was present in that embry book-
FOR pharma i used kaplan
for micro and immuno kaplan-
for physio kaplan
for behav kaplan(above average bar on my report sheet) althoug i thought i performed well in behav-
FOR BIOCHEM AND GENETICS USED KAPLAN
I watched videos of physio,biochem behav and patho(dr goljan)
IT is not mandatory but prefferable to watch videos if u have time-
I did kaplan qook qbank and uw-i tried to use every quetion bank-
didnt use FA-None of us used it-

I think lectures of biochem,behavioral and pathology are mandatory-one benefits a lot from it-especially we IMGs as we read basics few years back-
i used goljan slides-the pics that came in my exam were quite "BOOKISH"
EVERY neuro qs was accompanied by ct/mri so have a look at them-from netnatomy or wayne state univ site-

i dont think the exam is harder-i wud say that exam is a lend of v easy( u are surprised to c those q on exam), easy difficult and v difficult qs-but there are few of these-i dnt thnk that it is gettn v hard

yup nishtarians rock to-four of us appeared for steps soon after graduation(three for step 1 and 1 for step 2)-and all the four are 99ers-big proof-many more to go-

Hehe Maverick, muzammil and unique1 ,
I'm sorry for the furor I caused. I said , " we had a MISCONCEPTION that Nishtarians werent too serious as long as studies were concerned ". It was a misconception and now cleared by seeing such good scores and solid determination. You guys are as good as the KE and DOW ones. Actually, I didnt knw much about Multan in all, since it was so far from where I lived in Pak.
But you did it Maverick and your UW scores are GREAT....No wonder you made it

Hi,
Post the previous one b4 reading page 2 for detail.
Still pl do post more deatil in study as I've requested b4.
Glad to know none of the 3... 99er did not touch FA at all . I am not the fan too. Wish know it b4 buy new FA 2007 this yr. Had several old FA , read off & on , but some senior said get latest so I got the 2007 not long ago.
Thanks any way for the exam posts b4. After the celebration & nice rests, pl do post more in how to study , in terms of detail , how many round of repeat in LN, Q etc. etc. too.
Also pl advice how to study in 3 together, is that in person or phone or IM or etc. , instead of studying oneself or 2 . Also likes to know kap LN & dvd are latest or which yr.
Any use of Robbins, Review 1100 Q book too or not ?
Study in Q & kap etc LN, book, dvd at the same time or not? , If not what should be 1st to study then , how ?

I studied LN 4-5 times some subjects 4 and some 5-
I used only kaplan except for PATHOLOGY(DR GOLJAN) AND ANATOMY (GROSS HIGH YIELD AND EMBRYO)
i did q bank,q book and UW only once no repetition in that-i didnt use ROBBIN 1100 QS thogh i started it but found it too easy-in robbins 1100 q u can easily guess the answer even if u dnt know it,coz rest of the options hav nothng to do with the theme of q
