Hi can somebody please help me out. Ive taken step 2 thrice, failed. Ive taken step 1, failed twice. Im an old graduate but somehow cant get this USMLE out of my head to just forget about it thats why keep taking these exams. Somebody told me its useless to take the exams as you are not going to pass, ECFMG doesn't pass those who have already taken so many attempts. Last Step 2 Score 71 and Step 1 score 73. Please somebody help me out what should I do. Thankyou

i would say that keep on doing don't even think about yopr last attempts & even don't think about residency right now just try to pass these exam even it will take another couple of attempt when there is no obligation on retaking why one should stop retaking it if you can afford retake it until you pass then start some research & observerships oneday you will be the right person for the right program passing these test won't hurt you even with low score but not passing you know the cosequence you can't practice in this country atleast. so my advise is just keep trying again if you can aford.

Don't give up. Keep trying, you are not too far off. Anything and everything is possible....believe in yourself....I would attempt step 1 first....because step 1 info comes in handy when you are doing step 2CK. Good Luck

Thankyou usmlefever and dr grove for a quick reply and your words of encouragement its really going to help me alot. Cant thank enough. Im gonna start with Step 1 will do the Kaplan Lecture DVD's with kaplan notes and first aid and then after finishing each subject do usmle world and kaplan q bank of that particular subject. Is this strategy ok or can you plz guide me in this regard too.

strategy is good....also go over that subject in First aid....so that way you got first aid covered.....knowing first aid in and out helps alot.
