FALSE......Aldosterone is regulated by RAAS...

I though this also...

but Schwart´z principles of surgery in its eigth edition says the following:

" ACTH is the most potent stimulant of aldosterone release."

-Chpater 1, Systemic Responde to Injury and Metabolic Suppport page 9: Aldosterone

Whats up with this? Some kind of mistake or what?

I agree.

The major stimulants for RAA would be hyperkalemia, hypotension, hyponatremia and increased sympatehtic tone.

Agree?

Could help
The primary stimulator of aldosterone synthesis is the renin-angiotensin system. Other peptides known to play less significant roles in the stimulation of aldosterone synthesis include the pituitary hormones ACTH and vasopressin. Nonpeptide stimulators of aldosterone secretion include potassium ions. Finally, there exist inhibitors of aldosterone synthesis, including dopamine, atrial natriuretic peptide, and nitric oxide smiling facewink
