A 28-year-old male is brought into court for non-payment of child support. His ex-wife insists that he is the father of her child, although he denies it. The court suggests before hearing the paternity case that various genetic tests, including one for genetic immunoglobulin identification, be performed on the male, female, and child. Which immunoglobulin marker would be helpful in this paternity case? A. Allotypes B. Idiotypes C. IgA 2 D. IgM E. Isotypes

allotypes are inherited from parent, per definition Any of the genetically determined variants in the constant region of a given subclass of immunoglobulin. Isotypes are too broad and variable to be patterned.
