How does injection with epinephrine prolongs the effects of local anesthetics?

By inducing local vasoconstriction and thus prolonging the time by which the local anaethetic is washed away by the blood.

The addition of epinephrine to some local anesthetic solutions prolongs duration of action by causing vasoconstriction and decreasing systemic absorption.

Would ficks law apply here- say id you decrease flow rate (by vasoconstriction) then you decrease the conc gradient and prolong the rate of diffusion?

yes epinephrine causes vasoconstriction,which slowz the clearing period of tht local anesthetic...
