Doing observership at a good university hospital/ externship at a small hospital/ externship with a private company?

i did externship in a small community hospital( griffin hospital, ct) having it's own residents. if u get an excellent letter from the attendings then it helps a lot.
letter should not be only 4-5 lines like some people have from us doctors. good luck

IMHO in order of preferance and in good faith -

1externship at a small hospital

2-externship with a private company?

3-observership at a university hospital

Now 2over 3 is dicey ..Even an observership could land you a good lor and if its from a well known attending .But observership is just observership and u dont do much really ..so any lor mentioning that u observed well would be inferior to same mentioning that u worked well .depends on what is in the lor ...Also private company sounds dreadful .

did they ask u for a TOEFL score?

mmmm thats why because im student and i only hve took the step 1 so everybody keeps asking me for toefl score and i dont want to waste money and time in that
