for asymptomatic bacteriuria in pregnancy, UW says Trimetoprim-Sulfamethoxasole is NOT given because of the risk of kernicterus.

Blueprints says GIVE it!!!

These different and opposite information drives me bonkers...I'm getting the Qs wrong in UW while I'm innocent!!!! Because I answer them based on blueprints, but the informations are quite different!!!!

nadiabarati,
this issue was discuss here... I was about to give it... After all, I checked with pediatric oncology/hematology fellow sitting with me in my office, and she said it is OK to give Trimetoprim-Sulfamethoxasole at late term, when the fetus is well-developed... So, you are right... Hope this helps...

thanks a lot dear justice. Especially my BP are 2007 versions. But most Qs in UW online edited on 2005 if you notice the date.

glucose of 2 hrs in pregnancy must be more than 155 to be considered abnormal, right?
but in nonpregnants the norms differs and more than 140 is considered abnormal, I mean after 2 hrs, right?
