hello everybody, I am preparing for step 1 and planning to write in next 3months time.I have a plan to go to USA at the end of this year.I wish to apply for observership...can I apply without writing steps...or should I have atleast step 1 score in hand.I don't have any information about the observership processs..Could someone please guide me..any help would be appreciated. cheers

mmm well im a student and im not sure about the graduate USCE you should ry to get an externship instead of an observership i think is not that important wheater you have took step 1 or not try to email, phone call or visitit as many hospitals as u can and ask for one oportunity there program director or cordinator are the persons that could help u more well hope this info helps u, but as i told u im a student and i know more about the electives stuff

simi for externships you need the ecfmg certification, but for observership you don't need any scores ( as far as I know), of course it will be more effective to be done with the tests but not a necessity again as far as I know. And I have one recommendation for you, keep emailnig and CALLING them, even if they don't reply(unless they tell you a "no".)otherwise lots of times they don't reply emails, you should call them, talk to them even meet them in person.
