What is the most common cancer ..squamous/ adenocarcinoma ? Most common location...upper/middle/ lower 1/3rd ? Is there any CXR sign ..like rat tail or bird beak appearance ?

squamous cell carcinoma, 2/3 upper, 50% Adenocarcinoma, 1/3 lower, 50% I did not remember Rx (rat tail?) What type of dysphagia presentes these patients? Solids,liquids or both?

dysphagia will progress like this first to solid and than to liquids remember if it is associated with progressive lumen obstruction than as lumen is narrowing so is the dysphagia getting worse

through out the world....squamous cell ca...of middle third of oesophagus....in US..incidence of adeno carcinoma is increasing due to more GERD..but still squamous is most common....rat tail appearance...in barium meal.. :!:

thanks So if they ask commonest gastric cancer in USA .then do we have to tell adenocarcinoma ??
