Hi all, I'm taking my test at the end of May and wanted to ask for your advice as to what to read in that final month. For the record, I'm repeating the Step 1. I started studying in January for it... I have a family so it is hard to read Kaplan 3 times like some people claim to do. Most days I got 8-9 hours of studying, but in the last couple of weeks I have been hitting 10, sometimes 12 hours a day. This is what I have done thus far: Biochem/Molecular/Genetics - entire Kaplan book + all videos + Qbank Physio - BRS with all questions, some Kaplan Anato/Embryo/Histo - First Aid + Qbank (tried reading the anatomy High Yield, but from previous experience I know most of what I need is in the FA). Neuro - HY + FA + Qbank Behavioral/Statistics - BRS/HY + FA for Behavioral, Kaplan for statistics, Qbank Micro/Immuno - FA for Micro, Kaplan + FA for Immuno, Qbank Pharm - FA + Qbank Pathology - Goljan audio (almost listened to it twice), Goljan Rapid Review Book, FA, and Robbins Questions (except some minor chapters, like muscle, eye, etc)... VERY PAINFUL AND DIFFICULT questions but I feel these are worth it. I have not finished the Qbank yet (40%), in part because I have been doing the Path questions from Robbins, and the questions from the Kaplan books and BRS. Some of the questions in the Kaplan books repeat verbatim in the Qbank (especially the genetics part). Also, I'm one of those guys that gets distracted by computers, so if I can do questions from a book, it's all good because I won't be tempted. I'll be starting an intense, 1-month review next week and m question is, what to read in the next month? I'm not asking for a schedule, just what material to read that is doable. Obviously First Aid 3-4 times, but I don't think it is possible to re-read that Kaplan Biochem book in 2-3 days. What I plan on doing is studying from my notes and FA and doing 80-100 daily questions, with more questions near the end. Speaking of questions, in 1-2 weeks I will have blown through most of Qbank. I have USMLE World - should I just start with USMLE World right now or wait until I finish the Qbank? Also, is it a good idea to listen to the whole Goljan audio again? As it is I would have to listen to 1 lecture daily to go through all of them. And especially in Pathology, what should I read? Should I read again the Goljan Rapid Review book, or review from FA and his High Yields (the ones with 36 and 100 pages, respectively)? I'm not being negative, but is it possible to read the Rapid Review book in just a couple of days? Basically I want to have my game plan ready so I know exactly what I'm going to do in that last month and not stress out like previous times. I'll be taking a NBME test just before the review, and then another one a week before the test. So any advice that you can provide will be extremely valuable! Please help out... I'll be glad to post my advice when I pass the Step!

Begin to setup your study days as the test day. For example, wake up at the same time and begin studying at the same time you will on test day. Turn test day into your normal routine. Try to take breaks at about the same time you will when taking the real thing. Focus on questions. Do as many as you can. Be sure to read the expanations to ALL the questions you do!! Good Luck ___________________________________________________________ More help for Step 1 www.boardaid.blogspot.com
