waqaar is a 30-year-old male who lives with his mother. He works as a night-time cleaner in a large store since he dropped out of college many years ago. He complains of being “nervous all of the time” and would like to “get his life back”. He stated that he would like to change jobs but prefers his current job because he does not have any contact with other employees.he did not have any friends in college, mostly due to his feeling “self-conscious”. When among strangers, he would feel nervous and would “break out in a sweat”. He had what he described as “nervous attacks”, which came on suddenly and lasted for a few seconds to minutes. These attacks only came on when in the presence of strangers. Since these episodes increased in intensity and frequency, he dropped out of college. what is the diagnosis/
a.social phobia
b.speicific phobia
c.panic attacks
d.schizoid personality disorder

I think this person has 2 things going on #1 social phobia, which made him get in to #2 ,schizoid personality disorder, since we are looking for the answer I will go with the #2 schizoid personality disorder

  #3

social phobia, since attacks are provoked by presence of strangers

yes, I agree with Yulia.
I dont think it can be schizoid because these would be quite contended with their loneliness. If at all, I think this case could be an avoidant personality.

It is either social or specific phobia, I go for social.

he has social phobia. he may have avoidant personality disorder , but since that was not given in the vignette, social phobia is the CLEAR answer. schizoid personality disorder people are unlikely to have social phobia, since they are schizoid not because they are afriaid of socializing but they feel good when they are lonely. they like it that way. BSF (border security forces) jawans should be better having this disorder, and they will do an excellent job then!
