A 75-year-old otherwise healthy white female states that she has passed out three times in the last month while walking briskly during her daily walk with the local senior citizens mall walkers' club. This history would suggest which one of the following as the etiology of her syncope?

a.vasovagal syncope
b.aortic stenosis
c.orthostatic hypotension
d.atrial myxoma

Why cant it be a. You do have drop attacks during those as well

It is a matter of the circumstances surrounding the syncope. In vasovagal they are having a BM or doing something to stimulate their vagal tone.
In this case, she is exercising and can not increase her cardiac output to respond to the increased demand due to a fixed outlet obstruction (i.e. aortic stenosis)
