I got this score today , please help , is this low score will affect my career in any way and if it is how bad it will be ...???
this is my score for step 1 , and if i get high scores in other steps ,will this help balancing the score ??????

Well buddy if u can Improve ur score all the better but u have a pretty decent score dont worry id u look at the stats then u will find that 50% of IMGs who MATCHED had socres in the 80s its more abt how u conduct urself in the interview rather than anything else

Of course, if you do better in other steps, it will help, but first analyze your mistakes. Do not live in a fool's paradise....You have competition with a lot of good people....come out of your comfort zone......and post your exan and study experience............

My first big mistake is underestimating this exam ???????
i know no body did that , most examiners are really prepared for it .
i prepared for 4 months , reading my books once and FA twice didn't do Q-banks ( fool ) or NBME .
I know my mistakes for sure and i realized it in the last week before the exam .
One reading is not enough , the first 3 months was 2 -3 hours a day and this is not enough i saw some people experiences , they studied 8-10 hours a day and for 5-12 months .
Q-banks is really important especially UW and NBME .
Sleep the day before the exam ( i didn't ) .

first, congrats. you passed the exam!!!!
i have two friends who scored 78 and 77 in their step 1, and in step2ck they scored 85 and 78 respectively and they were able to make it for the match. they are both incoming first year this year. one in pedia and the other one is in fam med(they are both IMGs). i think you should worry if you are planning to enter a very competitive program, coz that is where your score will really matter a lot. also you still have a chance to improve your second exam. so move on and prepare now for that new challenge. if you are not meant to achieve your goal, you would'nt pass it anyway. so instead of worrying over a finish exam, prepare extensively for your next exam.

JUST RELAX AND TRY TO IMPROVE THE SCORE IN THE NEXT EXAMS. KEEP IN MIND SCORE IS IMPORTANT BUT NOT THE ONLY CRITERIA FOR RESIDENCY SELECTION. THERE ARE SOME INTERNAL ASSESMENT POINTS WHICH R ADDED WITH EACH CANDIDATE THAT INCLUDES EXPERIENCE, POST GRAD, RESEARCH AND INTERVIEW PERFORMANCE ETC. EVERY PROGRAM USES SOME INTERNAL ASSESSMENT SYSTEM. SO RELAX AND TRY TO ADD SOME EXTRA STUFF IN YOUR RESUME. I MEAN SPICE IT UP

try 2 get elective in us & get strong LOR
though competetive specialty is hard 2 get with ur score
but u can match in less competetive specialty..

but what i know is PD use step 1 as filter 2 whom should get interview oppertunity (according 2 FA ppl & dr. daugherty)

hey first of all congratulations u cleared! well i'd say the imp thing is to learn from the past and use it to improve your next exam score and i'm sure you'll do very well..as for residency i know of a person who got 78 in step 1 87 in step 2 worked on some research in the u.s. and got int med..so its not over till u say its over

Congrats on PASSING!!! You know where you fell short so that's a good thing. Do not make the same mistake on step 2. Make UW your bestest friend, ok? Do lots and lots of q's. Good luck to you
