Woefully stupid question but the lack of time compels me to suck up my residual self esteem and pose to my worthy forum companions a question so stupid, the likes of which have never been seen before. Theatrics apart, could someone be kind enough to tell me what a "Prepaid Airbill" really refers to? My residency program wants me to send them 2 prepaid airbills Here is what they say. "If the application is approved, ECFMG will issue Form DS-2019, Certificate of Eligibility for Exchange Visitor (J-1) Status and mail to the Office of International Affairs. To expedite the delivery of the Form DS-2019 from ECFMG to our office and from our office to you, we strongly recommend that you provide our office with two (2) pre-paid return airbills. " I have used DHL account number before to allow ECFMG to use my account to expedite my medical credentials verification but how do I get this prepaid airbill? Any one please?

Alright, I figured it out. Just in case someone else needs help with prepaid airbills this might offer some clues. Call 800-go-fedex and once you reach to the customer care representative ask him/her that you would like to open a new account. They will go through routine questions and importantly you need to furnish your credit card information. Next they will ask you what supplies would you want to have. This first time supply is free of cost. Specifically, tell them that you would need airbills for domestic transactions. There you go. Two to three days and your prepaid airbills are right there with your name and address and other information (most importantly your fedex account number) printed on them. Now anyone with those airbills can ship stuff in your name. The charge goes to your card.
