a 6 year old male child was brought to the ER with complaints of having consumed tablets of an unknown medicine.on examination, patient was pale, apprehensive, febrile,and dehydrated. he has voimted a couple of times in the house after ingestion of tablets.child is gradually getting lethargic, and suddenly developed a seizure.what can be decifered from the situation?
a.it is deliberate attempt to self-poison
b.it is obvious that it is an accident
c.it is clear that mother has poisoned him
d.child abuse
e.accident is the no.1 cause ofdeath for children between 4-6 years in usa

after 5 years it should be deemed that child has deliberately consumed the tablets.(ref.paeds.notes KAPLAN).BYETHEWAY, poisoning is the NO.4 cause of death in children.
