Hi, I just took my Step 2 CK two days ago. During the exam, the fire alarm was set off accidentally twice. For sure it affected my performance. I'm not sure about the extent that my performance was affected. Does anyone have similar experience? Should I contact USMLE and let them know, or should I wait until I got the exam result? Thanks.

Prometric is a Private Contractor for NBME Plz Direct Ur COmplaints to NBME n USMLE n make Sure that they get Heard cos After All u r Paying for Them not Prometric. The NBME N USMLE R the Authorities over PRometric they can have a defiunite change over there. Though it may not effect ur score but atleast no one else will go thru the Horrible experience Again in that Particular Centre. Some PPL think that they cant fight the System. Though Being True BUT THIS IS US THERE IS ACCOUNTABILITY IN WAYS U WONT IMAGINE IF THERE IS A PAPER TRAIL THEN THERE IS A CATCH.

Funny i had the same thing during my Step 1! I still remember it like it was yesterday...it was during question 49 of block 6. It was a Pharm questions. The fire drill lasted about 30 mins or so, and it was pretty darn cold outside. And then we were expected to start as soon as we came back in, with our brains still half-frozen. But to be honest it probably was better for me to have that fire drill, because it TOTALLY woke me up!!!! and gave me that extra boost i needed to get me through the remainder of the Step 1. Everything happens for a reason, and what's done is done, but just try to make the best of it As for reporting it, having a fire drill is beyond the prometric center's control! So complaining about it probably won't change anything. I'm just trying to be blunt. But then again you have nothing to lose by contacting USMLE and telling them. I'm sure you did awesome regardless of the drill... all the best! g'luck.
