im also doing path afresh.started with brs path,will add goljan also.
no i didnt solve robbins 1100.
solved pretest instead.good if u really retain all that..if not then no use.what r u using for path?
what abt other subjects?done?
what abt Qs?

therez thing ive come to know:there were a few Qs asked abt few rare genetic concepts like :
Replisome
Accessivity and Clamp Protiens
LCR
Methyl Guanosine Transferase Repair
Cockayne Sundrome
RNase and FEN 1
'Surprisingly all American med students know these concepts (I asked nearly 15 med students in the lib where I go and all of them knew these) and none of the foreign med grads know these (including me till recently). When I refered Med Biochem book of an American students all these are given extensively'
'IMGs lack behind in updating the volatile and fastly changing subjects such as Molecular, Immuno and pharma. American med schools fastly adopt these. And USMLE tests new concepts. The Kaplan and other USMLE coaching materials does not address these new concepts.'
.....now this is what ive read in another forum...clearly indicates that these stuffs are tought there but not in our homeland.it would b worthwhile if v could get some access of their notes.lets all try our best.

I m doing path from Brs/goljan.I have done half kaplan physio.
i found very easy patho pretest and robQ 1100.....
how abt micro and bio?i thinking to start them both after finishing patho.
I m studying almost 11-12 aday...
wat abt you?

just finished gen path.goljan is too heavily loaded for me to mug in a single stretch so im doing it little by little(a chapter or so)everyday.
im picking up micro (MMRS) n after im done with bacterio+parasito i will shift back to patho.also reading some anat everyday(hi yield series)
i solved pretest path.but there was a problem.since i couldnt revise that bk i lost all the knowledge that i had gained from it.i realised it late.
biochem-i will take up lipincott.
well im a fresh grad myself.just completed my internship this feb.
im putting 10+/-2 hrs per day.
expect to increase it as time goes on.

Knox, depends on your style, some anal [ as Dr. S. said] will choose all & even both books in one subj eg micro. & pharmaco.
If you still think you need more or more to know or understand, with still full of time to spare , energy, stamina, brain rooms, & money to buy or hard drive to dl saved , go ahead .
Some said....The more knowlege you have the better score & will be also better Dr.
Just not to lost the basic tracks.

Hey slow down, cause no one answer , I'm just here trying to help.
And no one says anal is bad, I used to be anal & still do to some point . If my time is not with me , even , no time for read them all , but have enough time to go down to book store buy all , I'll do for sure .But have no time at all for now.
Anal is good way to say , used all the time by prestigious fAMOUS GOOD TEACHERs eg Dr. Sakala ie Dr. S . Anal is the one who is v. energertic, full of energy & full of enthusiasm .
Oh well, anal means , hyper or book bugs or worms or hmm , who are very into study any & more & more , all the books as much as possible.
Even I choose for you, or rate as A+++, you did not find it is useful for you or still at page one forever or even finished all in 1 or few days , but nothing is stick to your head, what's the point of study that books, ie what I means the style.

Me here, try to help, get the backlash.
Any way, as a good soul, the following is me & , me the only me as my opinium re the books .
All books mentioned by you , some use them , some don't, again depends on their style & individual .
1. RM-GA... looks good , had check at book store, no time, so , will not do.
RM series.. no idea, not look insde, books thickness similar to radiculous simple, easy series .
2. PP..B,W.. not seen yet, no idea.
3. L.. B.... very famous, good clinical, diagram .
But I might not use, kap have alot to read & listen . Still good to have .
4.Mi.. J... good one, especially tables, summary, Q. But will not use, no time.Worth to have, read or not.
MMRS... not much idea, some said really good, but , not my style in all of easy or radiculous series. They all are thin, likes comics, cartoon, one line draw pictures used to be, no check latest one yet.
5. I.. B, W.. no idea at all, but at 4. Mi.. J ..has immu too, but I like old NMS immu.
NMS old immu used to be v. good, not check new one yet.
6.L... P. , famous like... 3. L...B, same comments.
K.. P..E,BR.. , same comments as 4. Mi.. J.
7.P.. C, P .. no idea, not seen yet, but is by famous authour BRS... Physio.

actually i had looked up the names of these books from first aid.thatz y i was sort of curious.anyways...

hi... even i think its getting harder. i failed in my second attempt in feb. two of friends also failed. had taken the kaplan classes, also the kaplan q bank the second time... i have of course realised a lot of things, like some body said.. wat works for some one may not work for u. i am workin hard towards my third attempt, n this time i have opted for the UW. n also plan to take the NBME... will give u posted..
