well im not an expert but i guess clerkship and elective is sometimes used indistinctively, so they mean more or less the same. but I guess clerkship is the basic clinical training, i.e. im, general surgery, pediatrics, that ALL the AMERICAN students should take in 3rd year. Electives are the classes that you choose while you are in 4th year. And subinternship is a type of elective but you have more responsibilities im not sure at all but i tried to help
