Hi! I will start writing in this journal today though i started reading FA 2 days back. Planning to read-familiarize FA for 15 days and go over Kaplan. Planning to take Step 1 by October. I need some motivation as i work full time thus creating this journal and regularly jotting down progress of my study, will give me the courage to stick to my study schedule. I hope there will be no great hassles along the way.God, please guide me.

Done with FA- Hema/Onco & Musculoskeletal. Will study Neuro & Psychia after duty. Huh! Long way to go man!

  #3

Unable to follow my study schedule these past two days. Am too busy and tired from duty. I cannot concentrate when i started reading. No focus. I hope i'll finish FA by April 15.Will finish Neuro & Psychia tomorrow.

  #4

I am off duty for 2 days so hoping to finish FA so i can start reading Kaplan Biochem. Got the chance to logged to prometric website and found out that there is really no test site for usmle here in my place. So i have to take the exam back home during my vacation.

  #5

Done with FA today but still empty. Arggh! Will start Kaplan Biochem tomorrow after duty.

  #6

Started biochem the other day. It takes a while to absorb stuffs in biochem metabolism. Am too slow. Hehehe!

Hey journal! Am back! Done with FA, ist reading of Kaplan Physio, Patho, Neuroana, Histo and Gross Ana. Today, started reading Molecular Bio also in Kaplan. Phew!!! Just like going back to med school. This is one of my weakest topic and i must read it for several times and make my own notes. Next topic to read is Genetics.

  #8

Not able to follow study schedule. So many interruptions. Though i am done with Ana and first two parts of Patho Qbook. Just trying to fill the gap, that is if i don't feel like reading Kaplan, i will answer Qs from Qbook.

  #9

Just hang in there yermdph!! You are doing great! Just don't lose the momentum!

I know what you mean by so many interruptions! I just try to lever them into being either a rejuvenating breather or an enriching experience, but that is tough too!

Anyways, will see you around! Good luck smiling face

Hi Acintya! Thanks for your comment.Really, it's hard to find ways to study when you are working full time with erratic duty schedule. But most of the time, i just pray to God for His Guidance.I'm still on my first reading. Not done with micro/immuno, pharma and behavioral in kaplan. Too long but no backing out for sure. Thanks again for posting a comment.

I received my papers today from my bro thru DHL. Yay! I can move on with the application process. Got to organize everything though. I want to set my exam in the last quarter of this year. I'm allowed to go vacation only in September. But still hoping to have my vacation in oct-nov-dec.

Done with Patho Qbook Test 3. My review has been so sluggished, just randomly reading a chapter of any subject. No continuity. Though i always keep Qbook side by side. *sigh*

  #13

hey keep going....persistence is the name of the game.Good luck.

  #14

Thanks medocuk for your encouragement. Hoping to win back the enthusiasm which i once had.

  #15

Done with pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics- Kaplan and FA. Added some notes to FA. Next is ANS.

  #16

By when do you plan to complete ANS? Be careful it can take for ever Keep focussed.Great going. See you later.

  #17

Didn't follow study sked as planned. Done FA instead, actually my 2nd reading. Answered 20 Qs Patho Test 5 Kaplan Qbook including reading explanations to choices. Sleepy nah!

  #18

Hey..I also work full time. It will be good to read your diary, it will surely motivate me. How you plan your study hrs in a day? I just started with the preparation, still figuring out the best way to study with full concentration.

  #19

@wishmeluck: if you have a regular work schedule then you can have a regular study schedule. Mine is not regular though. I usually spend 2-3hrs/day, that is after my duty. Day off is my day off. FA and Qbook is always there with me even while on duty, and do some Qs or flip FA when not busy.

  #20

SO what are you reading?
And I understand I also worked full time

Hi Gogeta. Thanks for dropping by. I'm almost done with Kaplan first reading. Got to start Behavioral next week. Thanks.

  #22

Got the chance to get done with FA behavioral while on-duty in NICU. Shift was not busy though NICU is packed with premmies. Will read FA Psychia then Kaplan Behavioral.

  #23

Reading kaplan behavioral. Alloted 5 days including Qbook then continue FA Psychia for another 1-2 days.
