oh yes I am still in med school UW rocks I got 78% (unused qs -timed mode) which predicted my score to the letter according to the formula: 2.3 x UW + 84 Kaplan is good (and admittedly some qs from kaplans appeared almost unchnaged on the test) but is not as good as UW pediatric qs almost covered everything in peds genral and subs growth, development, nutrition, psychiatry and MR as well as cadiovascular diseases and other systems they were tricky (the questions would give you classical signs of 2 different diseases and u have to know which one is the right diagnosis based on a tiny detail)

hi Dr. ayyad. Big congrad.s i have some questions i was hoping you could answer: i took my step 1 last year and i am starting to prepare for step 2ck soon and i am very confused about the prep. 1-basically for this step, do you think it's worth it if i revise everything from step 1? do they test e.g. mechanism of diseases or drugs, receptors, micro cultures, immunology? my score was fine (99/245) but it will take some time to go over step1 stuff. 2- coming from a european school, i have almost no clinical experience. i mean we didn't get to see alot of patients on our rotations. do you think if i know the theory well, will this effect me? do i need more time? 3- the kaplans for step 2 are so thin compared to step1. are they really enough? i mean e.g. surgery is about hundred something pages half of which are clinical viggnetts!! and one tiny chapter for ophthalmology or radiology!! 4- are the "treatments" in kaplan current or i have to go other books for the latest protocols they use in US? i would really appreciate if you could help. thanks

for dr.dragon fly kaplan + Usmle world are more than enough and for a guy who scored 99 in step 1 u shouldnt aim for less than 260 on step 2 ck lack of patient interaction is no big deal ....I have the same problem for the sake of the exam the treatment in kaplan are current however medcine changes faster than books do so stng may change , however in exam they dont ask about anything unless it is agrreed uopn (controvewrsial issues do not appear on the test) so stick to kaplan actually u dont need to revise anything,I have not done step 1 yet by the way!!! they ask about pathophysiology but not in the same way they do on step 1 , u can answer thes wout reading step 1 material again good luck for doctor jamdoc I read the following from FA : OBG,Psychaitry, the tables on orthopedics the orthopedics table is great and more than enough otherwise both crush adn FA are lacking there is a new book called kaplan medessentials i think it is good u may try it good luck

Congrats on an awesome score! An 8hr exam with three 5-min breaks ... wowo !!! Great job. What is this formula that you have used to predict your exam score based on the UW bank score : (formula:2.3 x UW + 84) - never heard of it myself.... Jay

I didnt do the NMBEs!!!!!!! frankly I didnt know they actually exist till 2 days b4 the test!!! the UW formula was given to me by a friend and we tested it 6 or 7times , it really works !!!! the greatest precision of the formula is when u use it with a score gained in timed-unused qs mode a friend of minr took the test around the same time, his UW score was 73% and he ended up with 99/248 guys it is very doable all u have to do is ot concentrate and be confident good luck all
