hi nikki whts surg higlights,some new book,
i am doing peds,form kaplan text,did UW cardio,endo(lil)
i have realised as i was just focuing on finishing sylabus my study got very superficial so now i am focusing on both speed and depth,i am trying to read UW carefully,making notes,really short.

Sunday May 6th.
yesterday I couldnt finish my UW notes on surg, but I did some vignettes from kaplan and read Crush 12 pages, finished surg highlights did few online Q bank quest ( those with explaination on call). I had a dressing of my wounds too so the pain took away some of my energy..but no excuses 
Today I will have to finish the surg book vignettes..but how..so much is left . Im only doing the vignettes but I wish I could do the text too..but no time. have to finish UW notes too today. and then Crush 12-15 pages.also have to do the rest of the q bank quest that are with exaplaintion on call...they are good quest cant miss them. So alot to do today.
Shaina the highlights are lectures on each subj that are just HY.not like the DVDs that aare too detailed..the teachers are same.good going sera. wish u both good health and lots of energy.
Goodluck to me..today the target is HUGE.

My half day is already over and I had been posting NBMe 2 quest for discussion..soi far done with 2 blocks..I have to finish nbme 1 quest too..I wish many enthusiastic people participate in NBMe discussions..there is nothing more imp than nbme in last month..everyone says to finish them well. Im trying. ok getting back to my todays target..i WISH i complete most of it!

hi nikki...i'll try my very best to participate in the discussions whenever i get time.
since i lost my tempo and i'm jumping from here and there and wasting so much time.
i think i'll get settled after taking nbme3....i dont care about the score and i'm not going to worry about it. its another step in this learning process and will hopefully motivate me to work harder.

Monday May 7th.
Hi sera, I can understand..dont loose tempo..even if u jump here and there Im sure ure learning the most you can. take NBME soon coz discussing the NBMe quest and final review of subj is MUCH more imp that how u score on it. well Im sure U will score very well.wish you the best.
I finished the exp on call quest of Q bank finally, Surgery 1 chap still left( biggest one!), Uw notes half done thank god!
Today- finish Surgery kaplan book!! UW notes!! and start UW quest and read Crush 12-15 pages. will give one last day on surgery tomorrw. Then will begin IM

hi friends
thanks nikki for the good wishes. i finally took nbme3...scored 580.
it wasnt that bad. i was scared and prepared myself for the worst but still wanted to score atleast above 500 as nbme 1 was 490. well thank GOD i'm done with it. i wish i had taken my exam today. oh! how much i want that to happen. it will be over soon and INSHALLAH we'll all pass with flying colours.
now about nbme....i got asterisk and high performance in almost all subjects except 3-4. but crossed borderline and entered lower performance in 'normal growth and develpment.' same bar in nbme1. what exactly do u have to read for this particular topic and from where????
it includes milestones... i know i'm very poor in that.
does it also include anatomy??? because i hate that as well.
if u guys have any idea/suggestion...let me know.
i also entered borderline performance in renal,urinary. but during the exam i knew my concepts wernt clear about this topic....so i have to work on that.
now generally my view about nbme's. as i did nbme3 today. and revised nbme2 q's yesterday and nbme1 day before yesterday.
i havent taken my exam yet but i would still say that nbme2 is the best of all nbme's. its a good brain exercise and the q's r longer and some r a bit twisted ...which i guess represent the real exam. and i guess it tests topics which r more likely to appear in the real exam.
in both nbme1 and 3 q's wernt that long. some topics r repeatedly tested in all nbme's. so i guess we have to have clear concepts about those.
day after tomorrow i'll start my final review. i feel really tired. i have alloted days to each subject but i'm not sure about the sequence.
i'm so sorry guys but because so much time was wasted last week....to compensate that yesterday i postponed my exam 5days further. its on 6th june. now i want to take it again by the end of may but cant find any date in may or june. all seats got filled over the weekend. its only 5 more days...but i wanted to take it with u guys.

Tuesday 8th May.
Congrats sera!! thats awesome!! u will do much much better in the final! Sera for final review I kept IM the 2nd after surg..after IM USMLE cd..then pedia, after that kap simulated, then obgyn, then psych.Im just finishing in the end..hardly 3 days in end will be left according to my timetable which I know I will loose in between to compenaste for wasted time..so I know I will be studyinf till the last minute as always. Im reading crush every day coz in then end I have no specail time for it..if I get the 3 days as planned in the end I might revise crush again. and in this last review Im going over kaap real fast, UW notes nicely and UW questions and Crush and will try to manage gigh lights for which Im not very sure.
will finish surgery today...and from tomorrw IM will begin. I still have to diuscuss the NBME quest...will take time out late nights.
thanks doc_08 for encouraging us.
today-->have to finish the surgery leftovers (kap book) + finish UW quest 131 remain+ 36 pages of crush ( since 3 days I didnt do so will haave to do today 3 times as usual :mad

today i spent time looking for nbme 3 answers. didnt study much. i had to get out of the house before i start my final review. i went out with my sister to eat.
tomorrow i'll do ob/gyn uw q's and then start IM after that.
nikki u r doing good.

I finished GI and hepato..have GI quest left to do from UW..in hepato UW I scored 89%..in surgery scored 84%...Since Im revising notes first and then doing quest..its like I already know what the quest is talking about and my mind doesnt exercise much...I hope Im not wasting my time
but when I learn my UW notes and then do the quest it does get double consolidated...any views??
tomorrw I have to do CVS and poisoning ( kaplan notes+ Uw notes + UW quest + Crush)..will have to finish todays remaining quest of GI tomorrw morning before starting. right now going to read crush (GI) and then sleep.
Couldnt manage the highlights ..I wish I could get 2 more hours before the day ends

nikki ,i think u r doing just fine. revisions matter and u r doing that
i started UW ob/gyn Q'S. they have such long explanations. first i couldn't sit and study and second, the last time i did these q's i guess it was last year dec. i did the wrong q's once in between but i've forgotten a lot of stuff so its taking time. but i was slow too and did only 100 q's  toooooooo bad
today i have to finish 100 more q's and then start IM.

May 10th.
Today I finished Cardio from kaplan and UW notes! oh it was so vast..some quest left from UW..will do before going to bed..3 hours to go for sleep time. today's target also included the emmergency med chap...I wish I could finish it today...if not it will add up to my list of pending topics
pending topics so far--> Rheumatology, Emmergency med, GI quest....have to adjust these somewhere.
tomorrow's target is Inf disease and opthal.
plz god give me stenth to finish tomorrw's target without any pending stuff.

ok i'm back on track. always waste time in between 2 revisions.
i finished ob UW q's. started IM. i could do only gi q's because i started late.
today's target first do renal and then try my best to finish gi hepatobilary.
i'll do surgery after completing half IM.
i dont get time to do the highlights.
nikki...VERY GOOD. doing cvs seems u've done half of IM. GL

hi nikki sera,i cd manage to dod ver lil today,hardly studied for 4 hrs,i started reading peds ,but was not grasping at all,then did few UW q's,these i think i did well.but only 25 q's,probably i will study fullfledge over weekend,

keep going Shaina Im sure you'll pick up the speed. V good sera..u look in form! lets be faster and faster...I too am not able to find time for highlights though they are so good
yesterday i had to do CVS and emergency med..I finished CVS with UW (79%). ..but couldnt do emmergency med.
Today's target was to finish Infectious disease and opthal..I DID finish Infections and UW quest too (87%)...2 more hours to go before sleeping..so will finish opthla too very quickly.
tomorrow's target is Resp and preventive med.
My pending topics list is ----> GI UW quest, whole rhematology, whole emmergency med...will try to adjust one of these with tomorrows target.
I feel relief that the biggest chaps of IM are over.
