Observership- shadowing a doctor. As the name suggests u will be observing how to deal with the patients and the US health system. You will not be touching a patient. Externship - u will get hands on experience, u work with patients, take histories and do physical exams etc. Highly recommended but very hard to get an externship. How long?? Depends on how much time you have? The longer the better. It also depends on what you do? You have to really impress the doctors and everybody you work with, to get a good LOR GL

Very Very Hard to Get is the Externship.

Now they ask u to pay 800$ for externship. Another way to make money! Next time they will ask for 800$ a month for breathing in the O2. and another 800$ for breathing out CO2 and poluting the environment.
