Hi guys,

I can't explain the relief I felt the second I saw on my screen YOUR USMLE STEP 1 IS COMPLETED.

In that second you just don't care about anything, you just want to get the hell out and go enjoy the freedom of not having to go and sit on the library!

I tell you something...

1. I agree with this past week other experiences in that the test is doable. It's very hard preparation and at the end, MOST of the questions were testing concepts.

2. I'm not that sure how helpful was paying UW QBank, the actual test has a different and more practical approach. UW sometimes gets impossible.

So, it seems that my test was all about pregnant women, alcoholics, cardiopaths, and asthmatics...

The single most frequent word of my test was SHORTNESS OF BREATH.

Pharmacology was a delight. Lineweaver-Burk not one time... BUT TWO. A couple of dose response curves, and a couple of mechanisms of actions. Pharamcology didn't really look so high yield in MY test.

I was a TA in Pharma for some years, and I tell you EVERY question tested BASIC CONCEPT.

So, I think I passed... now I have to wait sweetly...

Thank you all guys, I'm passing to the Step 2 forum for now on... July 31st!

smiling face

What was your UW average score ?

  #6

congrats to getting it behind you...and now the wait begins for all of us

  #7

Thank you guys! really thanks! and I HOPE IT'S BEHIND!!! i'm waiting in the oasis!

Regarding my scores, in UW i did so bad! around 65% was the most score i did and it was just once, then once 58% and the usual score was 54%... UW was very very difficult in some aspects... So then I took NBME and that was much better... I scored 210, which I think it was fair... I studied just 2 months and left medschool 10 years ago!

Felt the same way. Just wanted to leave the testing center as soon as I finished the test.

Don't worry about your UW scores. My scores range from 40s to 70s, cumulative average 59%. But I studies the answer keys very carefully (ie learned from my mistakes and memorized them). My actual Step 1 score is 97.

Im just like u ...7 years since I graduated and have 2 months to the exam...I have a question ...my kaplan Q bank expires 1 month prior to my exam day and Ill be finishing it all with my first read...so do you think in that 1 left month...should I buy UW and read along with it or simply read FA and my books over and over again ???

I would appreciate any input cuz maybe this decision I get here will determine my step 1 score confused

thanx a lot...

Hi guys! thank you all for your words!!!! Yes it was like that... you just wanna get out of there... but now i walk by there and feel so good...

BECAUSE I GOT THE SCORE!!!

I FINALLY PASSED WITH 208/86.

I know is not great, i know i'm not an out lier, but i'm putting my bet in the application as a whole.

After all, I only could dedicate 2 miserable months coexisting with my research fellowship here in Boston...

I'm happy, and relieved.

Three things:
* First Aid
* Kaplan lecture notes/videos
* USMLE world QBank.

That was all the material.

Thank you guys, and GOOD LUCK!

PS: ...strongly recommended to take the NBME test if you want to know where you are standing. PERFECT CORRELATION WITH REAL EXAM. PERFECT.

WEll old day 82 is good. Your is 86 & now aday , I think 85 look good too , in your case especially study in 2 mo. , FT research fellow and use very few resources than you get 86 . That's good .
Is that means kap Q bank is not needed if aim for 85 ?

Can you share the study schedule, method with hr, any repeat of that 3 resources and do you use all at same time or not & how ?
I am so happy to hear your good score , so I am very into your resources & way of study, so if I've asked a lot, my bad .

Thank you.nodnod
