Cerebrohepatorenal syndrome results from the absence of all PEROXISOMAL enzymes in the brain, liver, and kidneys.

Clinical manifestations include craniofacial abnormalities, jaundice, hypotonia, hepatomegaly, and polycystic kidneys.

Do u know the name of this syndrome?

actually about adrenoleukodistrophy - same pathology in brain

X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy (X-ALD) is one of several inherited peroxisomal disorders characterized by progressive neurological dysfunction that is occasionally associated with adrenal insufficiency. The metabolic abnormality results from elevated levels of very long-chain fatty acids in tissues and plasma. The biochemical defect is reduced activity of very long-chain acyl-CoA synthetase (VLCS) in the peroxisome.

The typical pathological changes in childhood adrenoleukodystrophy cause diffuse white matter lesions usually starting in the occipital, parietal and temporal lobes. Macrophages in white matter are found filled with the very long chain fatty acids. There is loss of myelin with gliosis and perivascular chronic inflammatory cells are found. The adrenals and testes are also involved with accumulations of the storage material

Zellweger syndrome is where there is total absence of normal peroxisomes. Electron microscope reveals empty peroxisomes lacking enzymes. Manifests as cerebrohepatorenal problem and the infant dies within few months.

Adrenoleukodystrophy is caused by inability of peroxisomes to metabolise fatty acids. Lipids therby accumulate in the adrenal and nervous system.
