I failed my first attempt.. didn't cry but let myself loose for a day or two. then scheduled for next try.. Asked my wife to be my SP and then practised 150 cases on her from knocking on the door till good bye.. She is Medical person so she had no trouble in being a SP plus she has a good english.. Make a general plan for all cases.. Like mine was :- 1. Knock 3 times. 2. enter and WITH A SMILE, say " Hello Mr. XYZ, My name is ABC and I am the attending Physician in this hospital. and am here to discuss your problem with you. Ae you comforable here? ok allow me to drape you" and put the drape on the patient.. 3. Then start with an open-ended question... and then LIQOR AAA and PAM HUGS FOSS.. 4. Always show empathy.. 5. Always use a Transition... 6. Don't stop talking while washing hands.. leave some questions for when u r washing hands. 7. explain in SHORT, every move of PE before u do that move. e.g. Now I am going to Listen to ur Heart.. and then do the Heart exam. and Say thank you after u r done with each step of PE. 8. Summarize Positive history after PE. 9. Discuss the Probable Diagnosis and one other posibility and few tests u r going to run. 10. Counsel if pt smokes, drinks, sexual habits etc.. If HTN/DM counsel on lifestyle.. 11. always ask "Dou have anything to ask me?" 12. Answer their question if they have one. then ask Anything Else? 13. All right then.. We will Meet when your results are back. If u have any questions u can always contact me. Nice talking to you. Good bye. 14. come out write the patient note. I typed it and finished in 7-8 minutes for all cases. I did all these 14 steps while practising at home.. if u do 50-100 cases like this, then everything will come to u in exam as a REFLEX. Best of Luck.. I was not 100% during my exam had 2-3 difficult cases. couldn't complete 2 cases but was good in the rest.. So thats my advice .. Do the Basics and everything will go fine. I hope.. Its always easy to give advice after passing the exam... It was difficult for me to type these things when I didn't have my result.. Anyways best of luck. bye..

Looking back, can you recall why you think you failed the first time? THANKS in advance for the help.
