A child born with jaundice( unconjugated hyperbilirubinemia) and died just after 3 days of birth .What type of jaundice is it ?

pathological may be due to hemolytic disease

crigler najjar syndrome causing KERNICTERUS "deficit of glucuronyl transferase" causing damage to the basal ganglia and parts of the CNS.

YES its criggler najjar type I..which is very severe. type II has intermediate course of severity between type I and gilberts . gilbert and physiological jaundice...benign rotor and dubin johnshon..both are conjugated hyperbilirubinemia's and ONLY difference is black pigment in liver in dubin johnson .

According to e-medicine topic: If left untreated, type 1 CrigglerNajjarSyndrome is uniformly lethal secondary to the development of kernicterus by age 2 years u said the kid died at 3 days of age. I am confused :?

Crigler najjar type I....death can occur anytime depending on his serum bilirubin levels( unconjugated)..and its effects
