Hi anyone has any suggestions. My eligibility period is expiring in 2 weeks, and I am still waiting for security clearance for visa. I have re-scheduled my exam so many times and now the eligibility period is exhausted. What are the options here to avoid paying the whole exam fee again. Thanks!

Although you can monitor available test dates for the time period and test center that you prefer, availability is not guaranteed. You must take the exam during your assigned eligibility period. If you do not take the exam during your eligibility period, you must reapply, including payment of the exam fee, to take the exam. - - - - - - - I hope somebody else has a better & less expensive idea. Have you tried to inquire ecfmg? You do that by sending email to info@ecfmg.org then they usually reply within 10 days to 2 weeks.

Hi, Rana Khan. Here is another bit that I found just this morning: If you are unable to obtain the appropriate visa to enter the United States to take Step 2 CS, you may request a full refund of the exam fee. http://www.ecfmg.org/2007ib/ibfaq.html#step12

Guys. thankyou all I called ECFMG and they were helpful. They gave me a fax number of a person called Roman Mizak. They asked me to fax the letter and a proof of visa delay. They can refund the money back into my ECFMG account and then I can apply again for CS. I have faxed it with letter from Vancouver consulate saying that I need 'Further Processing Required'. I will update once I get the refund to help other people with similar problem. I missed my match this year due to this and lost $3000 on ERAS application procedure and unable to attend the interview for a categorical surgical position.
