i got an opportunity to publish an article on breast cancer. I will probably be the second author though i do most of the work. Assuming I can start working on the article from April 1st.... with irb done.....in a sample of 40 women, how long will it take for the article to be published. In short, following completion of the article how long does it take to accept the paper n publish in a journal.. can i do it before the next match??????

It can take between 3 to 6 months to have an answer (yes, no, or yes but with modifications). If the journal send you a list of corrections from the editors, then you have to add the time required to make the corrections and to submitt the article again. Once the article is accepted for publication, it can take between 6 to 12 months to have the article published... The good thing is that if you submitt an article and it is accepted you can put it in your CV as "in press"... and for the match it is as good as the real publication... Good Luck!!
