A 57 YEARS OLD PT WITH AP AND INITIAL WITH BLOOD CELL COUNT>20.000 , LDH 400, SERUM GLUCOSE OF 250. WHAT WOULD BE THE MORTALITY RATE IN THIS PT?

A)16%

B)40%

C)100%

lets force our memories for ranson criteria :roll:
INITIAL BLOOD CELL COUNT>20.000 :arrow: i think this shows a bad prognosis ,its >15.000
LDH 400 :arrow: i think this not bad enough ,it must be >600 to consider its bad
SERUM GLUCOSE OF 250 :arrow: this is bad also ,>200
57 YEARS OLD :arrow: >55 is bad
NUMBER OF POSITIVE CRITERIA
0-2 <5% mortality
3-4 20% mortality
5-6 40% mortality
7-8 100% mortality
he is 3+ so,i think his mortality is going to be araound 20%
