On the official usmle website for STEP 1 (http://www.usmle.org/bulletin/2006/examcontent.ht...), it has been said that the the following subjects have been tested. Does anyone have the information on the approximate number of questions by subject on the exam? (i.e number of questions/350 or % questions)

Step 1 includes test items in the following content areas:
anatomy,
behavioral sciences,
biochemistry,
microbiology,
pathology,
pharmacology,
physiology,
interdisciplinary topics, such as nutrition, genetics, and aging.

What about embryology and neuroanatomy/neuroscience questions?

embryology, histology and neuroanatomy are components of anatomy.no one knows the number of questions devoted to each discipline.in fact,if u go through miscellaneous questions offered by some sites u will see that most of the questions depict a very overlapping pattern and u cant really discern exactly which question belongs to which content.it is all very integrated.

Well, i guess my next logical question is 'how do i decide how much time to spend on each sub-discipline if i don't know the approximate number of question tested on each subject?'  (i.e. shouldn't i spend more time on the subject they tested most heavily and least amount of time on the subject they least emphasize?).

i heard path and pharm are the most important ones, and most time should be spent on those two, but does any one have any idea?
