Which ONE of the following is a contraindication to thrombolysis?‎

‎1) age over 75 years
‎2) the presence of atrial fibrillation
‎3) asthma‎
‎4) pregnancy
‎5) background diabetic retinopathy

i think is diabetic retino thas a CI= contraindication smiling face

its probably 2.
there is a high risk of thromboembolus in atrial fibrillation.
fibrinolitic therapy will make possible thrombus more easily to tear off.

5. proliferative diabetic retinopathy is a contraindication.. i guess i ll go with that..

Those over 75 years benefit as much or more than younger MI patients from ‎thrombolysis. Proliferative diabetic retinopathy is a relative ‎contraindication.

Important contraindications to thrombolysis include
  1. Pregnancy
  2. ‎Bleeding (gut, menstrual)
  3. Recent stroke or surgery
  4. Uncontrolled severe hypertension
  5. ‎GI malignancy
  6. Prolonged CPR (more than half an hour)
