Physiology is the fundamental of medicine, so I would like to study physiology first before anything else. However, there's so much overlap between different subjects, so I might read atlas while I study for physiology. My plan is to finish reading BRS physiology and Kaplan physiology first. We could motivate each other by posting our daily progress. Good luck with your study!

Hello all, I am an old grad (2001) hoping to give Step 1 by Sep 07. I am looking for a motivated study group to get through this exam. I am studying from Kaplan notes, doing Beh Sc. Hope to finish first read by Monday (Apr 2). Next one up is Biochem, and then Physiology. Am waiting for Goljan Rapid Review Path to arrive. What is your plan for the week drssr and determined2007? meddoc2000, your study plan is very similar to mine, except that I am hoping to give it by Sep. I think 5-6 months is a good estimate, as beyond that there is the fear of forgetting what you read first. Of course it varies from person to person. indi_doc, arel, sure lets all do an online study group here. Let us plan what we aim to finish and check with each other again, so we don't lose time and stay motivated. Good luck all.

hello guys, i too want to join this study groupi'm going to give my exam in july.still doing first reads. Let me tell u what i have completed. I'm done with pathology,50%physiology,immunology(but need to listen to lectures), molecular biology. presently doing genetics along with micro.finished a little bit of micro also. I want to complete my first reads as soon as possible so that right from my second reading i can do questions and modify the preparation accordingly. so what u people r planning, let me know. It may help me to catch up with u. I badly in need of some motivation b'coz the way i'm reading now is not going to help me to get 99. so,let us encourage ourselves and achieve our goals and see that our dreams come true

hi meddoc, the utmost important thing that i noticed is that we all need some driving force which would motivate us if in low spirits.and this is great platform to achieve that. we can start any subject of our choice and regulate it acoring to the time.if we post our daily progress here as a group,i feel we will be able to remain in track and can take suggestions as to how to study a particular subject if any of the other group members already completed that particular subject.

Great to see this group quite motivated. Since some are doing different subjects, and for some it is the second read, I would say deciding what each will complete for that week and making sure the group accomplishes what they decided to do that week will work the best. I was supposed to finish Beh Sc and stare Biochem but my first read is going slow. At least hope to finish it by Apr 6 and start Biochem on Apr 7. So in a week, I will join indi_doc and meddoc2000 with Biochem. My study plan was: 3 months finish first read Kaplan notes, (Goljan for Path + High Yield for Neuroanat), 2 months do 2nd and 3rd read along with Kaplan QBank, followed by USMLE world and NBME. If scores ok, take in 6th month; if not reprep and take it-7th month. dr. dream, I totally agree with you this forum is fantastic to get the push we need. meddoc2000, I graduated a year after you and was not in touch with it at all. But do what you are most comfy with. And I too have the same fear that you do...so let's see how it goes! It is better to start with the subject you fear the most=weakest in, so its good that you are doing Biochem. Alright then, those who are interested, do decide what your goal is for this week and let's get started!

Hi Lily, yes it would be great if you could join too. So at least 4 of us will be doing biochem. Is this your first read? cos it will be my first one... so might be slow...will be doing it with the Kaplan videos..I am thinking I will take at least 12/14 days...not sure.. what do you think/what were you planning? meddoc2000 and indi_doc howz it going? determined2007 hows your prep coming along? dr. dream whats happening at your end..hope you have started some real serious studying. arel and drssr chime in when you have some time... sarwat please put in your study plan and progress as well. A motivated study group is the way to go... dare: I am doing Beh right now... so if you have some interesting questions/ points, do post them. Happy Studying everyone!
