My Target today,
12.00 noon, (couldn't sleep last night because of the baby so slept in the morning)
- Surgery notes page 13 to 27 ( 14 pages)
- OB one question paper -Q book
- UW one Block mixed timed
See how far I have achieved at 12 mid night

By Monday mid night,
- surgery 10 pages only (4 pages behind)
- OB Q book 44/50
- UW mixed 63%
Tuesday had my eye exam and whole day eyes were dilated
Couldn't keep up with my target any way will try it today
Wednesday"s target
- Surgery 20 pages
- Q book IM
- UW mixed

yesterday
- finished 20 pages surgery - I was so slow in reading
- one block UW 52
 I was scoring 60s and this is the first time I got a 50......... Not good
Today
- surgery read up to page 47 again too slow
- UW one block 50....
 Too bad what is happening to me? You will not pass if you perform like this
I have forgotten certain things which I studied for step 1 need to review FA step 1 and Goljan lectures
For tomorrow (Friday)
- read as much as possible surgery
- q book IM
- scan FA step 1
Need to study effectively during the short period I get. Yes I will do.....I can

Dear Malithahe,
Wanted to write you for a long time. Its great to see you back. Don't worry, you are doing great. Most imp thing is to start and I took full 6 months to get into the track after my firstborn. Been there, remember it all, keep going, everything will fall into place with time. Heartiest wishes!

Didn't have a look at the forum for a couple of days. Living alone in a foreign country brings a lot of stresses in certain times. Ok I'm back to work today. A two month old cannot understand that her mom needs to study, so I must work productively while she is sleeping,
Registered for May -July. Still didn't scjedule a date. My husband needs it to be done in June. But I target for last week of May. will see
My target today,
- Finish surgery -60 pages left see how many I can finish
- UW one block

ohh Finished surgery .( 60 pages on a strech) 12 midnight now. will try to do a UW block.

hi
its so good to read ur mails. great motivation fr me atleast. im impressed . u r doing great. ive a three month old baby and i understand how difficult it is to study with the baby. ive been trying this ever since hes born but i just give up at times. coz its soooooooooo tiring. i would like to keep in touch with you coz ur mails motivated me to a considerable degree. i will start everythign again.

thank you very much. I peep in to your jurnals too and you motiveted me to start a journal here. yes we will motivate each other and jump over this barrier. good luck to you all.
star _moon, yeah it si so tiresom and time consuming but if we keenly work out we can save some time to study.
yesterday agaijn a bad score UW 58 Daybefore yesterday it was 65. My score always fluctuates just as in step 1

yesterday did only psychiatry up to page 60. my little one didn't slepp at all during the day time

Wooo weekend is over. too little academic did only three UW thats all. 58, 60, 65 not bad but not good too.

I did my step 1 in Nov. 2006. Didn't do anything until I get my results because i thought that i didn't do well in the exam.then next month my last for weeks of pregnancy and couldn't make up my mind to study. then baby, changing homes and finally started my prep on the March first.
Started prep- March 1st Exam -June 2nd so far done- - finished first reading of lecture notes ( stat and epi left )
- some lectures
- 10 blocks UW
- some blocks q book
time left-7 weeks need to do - - finish lectures( one week)
- another reading of IM (one week)
- FA (one week)
- Finish UW and Q book ( through out 7 weeks)
- Kaplan q bank? (my husband needs me to do but I don't know
Thight schedule, difficult to achieve with a small baby but now I hate the life of a house wife. I've forgotten that I'm was busy doctor. soo need to apply for 2008

thanks for sharing malithahe. i'm planning on taking step 1 in june and step 2 ck in september or october (that is if i pass step 1). i just wanted to know if july-september/october was enough to study for step 2. i know i should be concentrating on step 1 but you know how the mind wanders sometimes...  much luck to you with your studying. you sound determined so i'm sure you will do just fine. thanks again for your post.

Thank you j ram and wish you good luck in your steps. I exactly can't say whether three months are enough or not since I've also not done it. I've planned my preparation to be completed in three months and do the step. But you know until I do it and get my results I cannot advice. But many have done step 2 in three months. But anyway as my husband always advice doing the test in a hurry is not the thing butdoing it very well is more important. Because no one at the match ask the preparation time but the results. I;m trying for 2008 match thta's why this schedule, but he always advice it doesn't matter if I stay home for another year if I take time and do the exams well

I started this post just to motivate each other. Otherwise I could have written it in my diary or a forlder in my dekstop. So when I'm doing nothing or too little I hesitated to note down here. Last week was like that.... horrible
Only did 20 pages of FA, UW 4 blocks 63, 54, 47, 69
Again new thing... tried to register for CS only dates for sept were available and finally found one in JUne. So I changed my plan. Do CS first in the second week of June, and Ck in the last week of July. Will study for three more weeks for CK, stop temporaly, study for ck for one month, do it then again 5 weeks for CK. I know tha it is not a good plan but I have nothing to do.. Sorry for the disappointment. I will continue this for another three weeks
Need to study hard as i have a tight schedule now. want to finish 100 pages of FA and one UW

thanx fr ur support. i really need it. just check teh cs dats. n the earlies available fr chicago where i wanna give it is in oct dis year. . these days studying paeds from kaplan. this is my second revision n thas wt my baby does. i keep him next to my chair n he is so noisy... never silent. wt i do is that i start reading loud n he thinks mom si talking to him. but u know its teh right time fr studies atleast teh babies cant walk away . may be after two or three months we will haev to run after them.
which question bank should i get? do u think is hould get usmle world and kaplan both? n which one should i start first.?

Chicago is the closest place for me too. but when i checked for registration earliest dates were in September. So I registered at Houstan and post poned CK to be done after that. Need to travel with the baby but what to do? You might find an early date if you keep on checking. Other thing is you can do CS even before you do step 1. Since Cs takes about 2 months to report score, and we can get the scores of step 1 and CK within four weeks sometimes it is better to do CS earlier if there is a limited time period to complete all.
I'm doing UW. It is good. since I postponed ck I might buy Kaplan too because UW expires one month prior to exam date( I will stop my prep for one month in the middle of the prep to prepare for the CS)
I did Kaplan 3 months for my step 1 and was helpful to understand what I need to study, then I did UW during the last two weeks and found it very helpful since the format is similar to the real exam. Hope this would help. Good luck
