Dear bbb,

I got matched in FM but I wwanted IM. My question is can I apply for IM resdency after finishing FM.

Is there something called funding issues for second resdency?

Yes, you can apply for IM after you finish FM.

amir hossein are u sure??? i think if u got a fm with a j1 visa you should return to your country 2 years??? of course you could get a waiver but is easy to get it???

Yeah, I was meaning the one without visa problem. You can study as much as you desire or whatever you want. But if I were him, i would continue in FM as fellowship in sport medicine or geriatrics

Thanks guys for responding. No ,I don't have visa issues.I have read that federal govt. only funds for first residency and hospitals therefore don't prefer people who already are board certified in other speciality.
