Dear guys!I didn't match this year. I was explained by on of the programs that I need more USCE. Needless to say, I'm brokenhearted.
I tried to find an observership position, but unsuccessful. Externship I can't afford so far.
Yesterday I was granted an intern position in psych unit in one of the hospitals, IS it considered USCE?
Please, respond.

i think thath YES but if your aplying for internal medicine,etc i dont think an psychiatry internship would help

Yeah, it is good but if you want IM, try to find some connection in that hospital for doing at least something like going to morning reports or grand rounds.

Thank You, guys.
To minang: I have absolutely no idea what intern does. After First week of April I'll find out. Hiring nurse told me that it involves everything-social work/nursing/hands-on experience.
I'll try to arrange for attending the rounds too. Hopefully, I'll be able to work it out.

I thought interns are the first year residents doing INTERNSHIP! Is it possible that you got a 1st year position??? I am pretty sure that an intern = 1st year resident. And yes they usually do a lot of scut work (as the N.P. that you talked to suggested)...
