Hi bangles81,

You CAN do it! Deciding to take it is a big step in itself. Then the order would be get material+planning+motivation+dedicated efforts and you can ace it!

I just started preparing as well.. when do you plan on taking it? I have heard that doing subject wise initially and then doing system wise in the second read is better. When I stop looking at the mountain of things to complete, and just focus on one subject at a time (by providing a time-table of course) works better.

Well good luck and keep in touch.

will i be able to study for step 1 if i plan to give my exam by december ?

I can try my best here.... It would depend on your confidence level on finishing all the disciplines for Step 1 and getting proficient at exam taking; how familiar you are with the material (old IMG vs recent IMG) etc.

You have been studying for say a month now, till you start your housejob, then when you finish, you will have around 3 months (to give exam in early Jan). Assuming you have minimal time during your house job to study for the Step 1, it will all depend if you are willing to push yourself in those 3 months, (if you are able to study full-time) and also be confident of passing with flying colors. So I would say it boils down to you. But from what I have heard, typically people take about 5-6 months (some even less) to get through it with relatively good scores....

I am not sure if this helps, but you can do some analysis yourself to see where you stand and go for it!

hey thanks once again haribol,
i think you have cleared my mind .. i will not do my housejob right now cos it can be done later as well.

what i will do now is that i;l stick to the plan of studying very well about step one and give it by november or december hopefully!
i dont know where you are from but i am from pakistan and housejob here is really hectic with every 3rd day call of 30 hours. im sure i wont be able to concentrate with so many thing on my mind with housejob. even i heard it takes atleast 5-7 month of thorough study.

smiling face how is this plan?

It sounds good bangles, please do what you feel most comfortable with.. as long as you can devote dedicated hours to study for it, with a plan.... you can do it!

Just make sure you can do the housejob later.

Good luck!
