Hello everyone,
I want to apply for PTAL for California.
They say on the website that for people outside California they need to contact the board for fingreprinting card. I called at the number given where automated system asked about my address, name, phone etc but then hung up. I tried again and the same thing.
Can anyone tell me how to get that FP card, who to call ?
Can I apply before with all the other documents required and do the fingreprinting process side by side and send it later ?

Hi arizona_wave, Just call them and they will ask you your address, Then they will send you.

I just called CA medical board at 916-263-2382 and the service rep asked my name and address. At the end of the call, the rep told me that I should be getting the card late next week. So just call them, select 1 after the initial greeting. Good luck.

Thanks a lot for the info. I did what you suggested and got the cards.
If you can plz tell me one more thing.....It says for the fingerprinting card that use black ink printer....? What did you use and where can I find it?

Hi,You have to go to a fingerprinting center I guess.thats what I did,they will take ur fingerprints and send it themselves to the CA board.

Thank you everyone for the responses, really appreciate it.
After making 5-6 calls to CA board I finally got the answers today.
I want to write how I got the card and what to do next to get FP done.
For people outside CA, call the california board after greeting, press option 1 which includes FP forms then you will get to talk to a rep. Tell them you need the FP card & they will ask ur address and send it to you by mail and I got mine within a week.

Then when you get the FP you have to get the FP done at the local police station. Google on the web the police station for ur area and find their office location where they do fingerprinting. You can call the information desk of the police dept. they will tell you hours of operation and whether you need to make an appointment or just walk in.
Well CA Board makes everything hard and expensive.
Anyways, thats California where people are probably from another planet !!
