Why the basis of therapy is to decrease heart rate? any logic ? thanks

neo335, thanks, I actually read that the basis of therapy to treat prolongation of QT interval is to decreese the heart rate (thats why beta blockers are helpful). I couldnt corelate how decreasing heart rate will bring the Qt interval back to normal. thanks
