hi friends...
can anyone tell me whether an observership in a hospital helps ?i mean it makes u familiar with the system and place.but is there any other benefit?
im very tense about studies and suddenly i heard about this observership and they say its imp if u dont have any work experience in this country.please advise..
should i just conc on step 2 ck now?or do something like this in between.i know i dont have time.i dont know how to drive too.all this is eating my head. please help..

Hi! I am an IMG, and was wondering the same thing. I was able to ask some of the upperclassmen from my school who are now taking residency in the US. They said to concentrate on the step 1, 2CK, 2CS first. Then, try for the Match. If the news is not good, (meaning not matched for that year), apply for observership to improve your qualifications. Or apply for step 3. If you get any other advice, pls post, thanks!

hi..ya i have heard the same.nowadays with the competition getting tougher someone with work experience in the US has a better chance than those who have none.
i also heard that they r prefering people with greencard.
all bad news..this time the no of imgs who could get in were only 46% compared to 49% last yr.
so best of luck.and ill let u know more about this if i come to know about anything new.meanwhile please tell me if u know of any other way we could better our chances.thanks
