After studying for step 1 on and off for over 2 years, I decide to take it this summer. My mistake in the past was setting unrealistic goal and never follow my schedule. I've spent too much time on a topic that I don't understand. I've also spent too much time transferring information from one book to another.
I'm going to start with BRS physiology chapter 1 tonight, and see how much I could accomplish.

I feel depressed. I'm still in chapter 1. I can't concentrate and I'm so worried and frustrated.

hello determined2007,
dont be so depressed.this is still the beginning,right!after such a long gap it is difficult for anyone to get tuned to it soon.
do one thing-just for a change start some other subject.may be u may get rejuvenated and once u r back to ur original spirits u can carry on with physiology.
seriously,this is what i do.first i started with path,but i approached completion somehow it went too slow.so,i left it at that stage and went ahead with another subject.
u know one more thing,i'm pasising through a similar depression these days but i'm trying to overcome it.
dont worry,just make some change in ur schedule and go forward.
discuss ur progress everyday on this forum.

Thanks, Dr. dream. Your recommendation works very well. Now I'm done with neurophysiology and I'll start neuroanatomy tomorrow. Anatomy is my weakest subject. Any hint?

determined2007 don't let it get you down, it is just the start of the climb, so don't look back, just try to get in some focussed study.
If it makes you feel better, I am suffering through a similar phase. I get stuck with a topic and it takes me hours to finish a few chapters. I have only now finished half of Beh Sc and wanted to finish whole Beh by yesterday... and I still have 8 chapters....so much to finish and its already April 3..
dr. dream you are right, after such a long gap, it takes a while to get in sync and also retain it.
this journal and forum helps to see what you plan to finish and stick to it..but of course we shouldn't get discouraged...
so good luck with neuroanatomy... are you doing it from High Yield? I heard it is good, so I am planning on buying it.

ur name itself has determination in it.only thing that is required is some self confidence.
so happy to see that u made some progress.congrats.
Anatomy is indeed a volatile subject and most of us r weak in this.but dont get too tensed looking at it.
do one thing,go through the following site while studying anatomy.
www.netanatomy.com.
this is really very useful.if u cannot visualise the structures while studying just go through the atlas present at this site and u can have a clear picture of it.
i wish to write the exam in july.and what about yours?

I've been lazy and depressed in past few weeks. Today I decide to pick up books again. I'll do Lippincott's pharmacology chapter 1 tonight.
