Hi, I'm an Indian radiologist with 6 yrs exp in radiology including my residency. Recently I've given step 1 USMLE and my score is expected within 10 days. However,I'm highly interested in getting a residency(Specially which includes transitional yr) in US.But as far as I know the IMG's are not preferred in radiology and its one of the most competetive branch there. I'd highly obliged if anybody guides me regarding this. like best programs encourgaing IMG's specially radiologists from other countries the process etc(Diagnostic as well as interventional radiology programs) I do not know much about even basics like difference between catgorial & prelim/transitional year? I'm not much interested in fellowship as I want to become a board certified radiologist and it is very difficult to do that with fellowship. Any body.............. pls guide me!

I do know two MD from pakistan/India that were Radiologist back there and did fellowships in interventional radiology at Montefiore med. cent bronx ny. Your experience as a radiologist will help you a lot to find a residency however try your best to get high scores in the tests. good luck
