A 32 y.o. male is brought to the physician because of weakness and tiggling that started in his feet and is now at his knees.The weakness started a week ago and is getting worse everyday.PE shows absent deep tendon reflexes in knees. His past medical history is insignificant, except for a mild respiratory infection 2 weeks ago.
This patient condition is most likely associated with which of the following?
a.-Endomysial inflamatory infiltration
b.-Toxin prnrtration through blood nerve barrier.

A. Endomysial inflamatory infiltration = Polymyositis
B. Toxin penetration through blood nerve barrier. Mechanism for Neurotoxins which history doesnt suggest.
C. Endoneural inflammatory infiltration = Mechnism of GBS.
D. Mutations of muscle structural protein gene Will prduce diseases like Duchenne's, Becker MD
E. Endoneurial arteriole hyalinization = Mech of Diabetic Neuropathy ??

GBS can be casued by :-
  • Bacterial infections include C jejuni, Haemophilus influenzae, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, and Borrelia burgdorferi.
  • Viral infections include cytomegalovirus, Ebstein-Barr virus, and during seroconversion with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
