Guys, when you see in the exam: BRASSY COUGH +DYSPNEA in child with a recent upper respiratory infection histroy,the diagnosis is most likely laryngotracheobronchitis (CROUP) due to a viral infection.
The most common cause of CROUP is Parainfluenzae Virus type 1 ( paramyxovirus)

Damn i knew that but for the life of me Paramyxovirus = Parainfluenzae wasnt made in my mind. Yup Guys Parainflenza can occur in infants also though Goljan gives a 3mnth age area but symptoms dictate the Dx
