Maybe they are doing the same thing that my PD and I did ...."We filled how high????"

Pretty much surprised me!

its the scores that mean everything ......Right??.,......99 on all three steps is what all program needs.....They dont give consideration to anything else...Can u help me understand what does a call from program asking whether i am ranking it or not means.. ?

Now I'm not surprised why I didn't match.

Radio freek, it is not the scores that mean everything to them. Scores are only important for us (applicants). It is "THE CONNECTION" that means everything for PDs and PCs. The problem is not you or your application. The problem is that you did not have enough or any connection with the PD or PC. Good luck on next match. With your current scores and creds, you will definitely match IF you find the right connections with PDs and PCs.

Good luck to all of us on finding connections for next year.

Match is not about how hard you can work or what is your score. It is all about $$$ and Connections. Instead of doing research find somebody who knows somebody. You will be matched.

doc1355 im sorry to tell but i totaly disagree with you, my experience proved to me that you can get wherever you want without any connections and without knowing anyone, i matched at my first choice, and i didnt know any one at that program whatsoever , and i think what got me there is alot of other things, but connections and $$$ were not one of them, raised eyebrow

Sorry - scores help, but they don't mean everything!

I don't think its entirely about connections cos lots of friends matched without connections. There may be many more things which need to be worked on. Its time get into my shell and think where i went wrong.

It's not about the connections. It's about connecting with the interviewers.

This is perhaps one of the best statements that I have read here in the last couple of days. It is so RIGHT ON!!

Hey BBB,
I have a question for you.
What should be the right time period to respond to an interview call? I mean if Somebody responds to the program after 15 days or a month of getting interview invitation, does that affects his/her chance.

I'm not triple b but... are you talking about getting an iv invitation and then waiting 15+ days before responding? That's way way too long. You run the risk of running out of options for interview days, and I think it shows disinterest in the program. I would advise responding within 3 days. For all of my invitations I responded the next day. If I needed time to arrange my schedule I just asked them for a list of available dates and got back to them the next day. But this is an interesting question.

Yes, if the dates that we offered you were filled in 3-5 days after the offer, it means that the dates are filled. Programs invite far more people than they can interview because they know not everyone will respond. I would like to think that programs try their best to accomodate an applicants first choice, but it's not always possible.

Hi BBB
Your reply was informative as i had no knowledge about the fact that programs send lot more interview invitations than they can adjust. But what i meant by 'chance getting affected' was does it reflect bad on candidate's part and does program take a note of it...
Secondly , I herd a lot of people say that the chances of getting prematch is highest if candidate interviews early in the interview season. Is there some kind of reasoning in it?
