Didn't you read the replies of your own topic Unlucky Unmatched? http://www.prep4usmle.com/forum/thread/50653 Don't they make sense to you?

You should also read http://www.prep4usmle.com/forum/thread/50715 . There are wonderful analysis from wamba, mvat and tikis.

After licking your wounds, you may think about the advices you reveiced from others in this forum. Maybe ask a honest friend to give you some feedback on your interpersonal skills.

Hi Wanderer

Just let harry vent his spleen. thats his speciality. he asks something and if he doesnt like answers asks again.

One thing for sure, PDs and faculty are looking for someone wholly (not just credential) who can fit into the program and fit with them.

Hey guys, take it easy - dont aggravate his pain.

Harry, dude, relax.

What has happened has happened and nothing can change it. I know its easy for me to say but you have to move on. Take a week or two off, then re-assess everything in a new light.

Think about all that was said here..talk to some good friends and then work on imporving your already great CV. Get some research experience, externship or something akin.

Most of all, dont lose hope. You have done great so far, (though not entirely). Now the task is to find out your mistakes and imporve on them. Introspect, consider your actions in a critical light and work on them. God willing, your efforts will certainly pay off; its only a matter of time.

goodluck

its easy to kick at someone who's on the ground.

harry, i figured in my interviews some of the applicants are so quite, shy, hardly ask anything.... on the other hand some try to talk non-stop, try to be funny are too over-confident, even a bit arrogant.

i think both is not good. you have to find a middle-way. be very friendly, humble, speak proper english. dont be shy, dont talk too much.

someone with you cv and scores, should find a spot.

good luck!

I think everything matters. From scores to experience to communication to personality. I don't think that bbb can just give you a direct fix it all answer...or maybe she can, she's pretty smart. Review other peoples posts and the suggestions given to them (and to yourself) and take them to heart. Good luck.

Looks like i got criticised hence thought to make some amends.

First of all your creds are great. No one has any doubt about that. So on paper you would be ideal candidate.

That you have got 10 interviews show that you have selectively applied. You should apply extensively next year.

NExt thing would be interview skills. You have to improve people skills. You were very unfriendly iwth everyone. never interested in talking to any of us. You would just post something and look for answers and then come back only to repost it. I am not saying this cause I matched.I have been working for the past year and it helped me in the interviews, cause in US its not like back home where if you are talented, you will get wherever we want. They are looking for all round experience and you have to make a lot of small talk.

Stop thinking about not matching and just go ahead and make plans for next year with positive attitude. good luck. Iwill be there for you.

Several people have hit on the correct answer. It's the whole package - it's not just scores, research - it's someone that the program director would like to talk about football, have a beverage with - it's everything.

People think that it's just scores and it's not. We had people with scores in the mid-eighties that we are very happy to match with and people that we didn't rank as high with scores in the mid-ninties that we didn't want in the program because they weren't a GOOD FIT. Don't under estimate the importance of that.

It's everything, but a lot of it comes down to how comfortable of a fit did that applicant feel like.
