Which of the following measures is most likely to decrease the risk for hepatitis B infection in her newborn?

A
) Recommendation of bottle-feeding rather than breast-feeding

B

If she is 38 weeks and found to have vesicles and painful vesicle, the answer should be E

Since the question does not mention any active herpes, I will stick with D

C is absolutely wrong !!

Hep B vaccine...first dose id normaly given right after birth... so the only thing one has to ADD is the immediate PASSIVE immunization with HBIG after birth.

to AAAA ... what do Herpes have to do with Hep B? unless you reffering to choice E per se...then HIV is also an indication for CS.

Yeah, answer is D. The following is lifted from an OBGYN text:

"To prevent transmission to the newborn, it is necessary to give the baby hep B immunoglobulin at delivery, and Hep B vaccine within one week of delivery and repeat at one and six months."
